By Nova the Husky
Hello, friends!
It’s me, your favorite walking cloud of fluff. I have something very important to talk about today, my glorious, magnificent, impossibly soft fur.
You know, the fur you compliment all the time, right before you pull a tumbleweed of it off your sweater.
I’m a Siberian Husky, which means my fur is my pride, my joy, my natural insulation, and apparently, your new home décor. You may think I shed a lot, but honestly? I’m just generously gifting you a little bit of me to remember throughout the day.
Still, I know keeping up with my fur can be a full-time job. So here are my Top Tips for Managing My Fabulous Shedding.
Accept That My Fur Is a Lifestyle
Let’s get real, you will never, ever have a husky and a completely fur-free life. The sooner you embrace the fluff, the happier you’ll be. Think of it as a light snowfall… indoors.
Brush Me Like I’m Royalty
A good brushing 2–3 times a week keeps my coat healthy and reduces the number of fur bunnies rolling across your floors. When “coat-blowing season” hits (spring and fall), daily brushing is best.
Pro tip: Use an undercoat rake or deshedding tool — it gets the loose fluff hiding underneath without damaging my top coat.
Invest in the Right Vacuum
A good vacuum with strong suction and a pet-hair attachment will be your best friend. Bonus points if you use it on furniture, car seats, and even clothes.
Watch My Diet
A healthy coat starts inside. High-quality food with omega-3 fatty acids keeps my fur shiny and strong. More shine = less breakage = less fur everywhere.
Make Peace With My Fur
Husky fur has a way of sticking to everything. You’ll find it in your coffee mug, your laptop, your mascara… it’s basically love letters from me, sent via fluff. Just smile and say, “Ah yes, she was here.”
Get the Right Tools
My Mom and Dad have spent a small fortune testing out all the tools, so let me save you some time and cash. Here is my personally-tested-and-approved list of the best tools for managing furry beauties like me.
First, let’s talk about vacuum cleaners. The truth is, you’ll need more than one, along with a weekly procedure for keeping the fur under control. My Mom swears by this plan.
Daily Vacuum
Yes, you read that right… daily. But it’s not as bad as it sounds. What you need is a robot vacuum that you can program on your phone to run every weekday morning. My Mom swears by the Roborock Robot Vacuum.
Here’s the one we have:
Here’s a fancier one that is self emptying but is more expensive:
TIP: Empty the vacuum each night and pull the fur out of its roller so it doesn’t clog up. A five-minute job that improves your life immensely.
Uproot Cleaner Pet Hair Remover
The Uproot Cleaner Pet Hair Remover is pure magic! ✨ It doesn’t work on every fabric, but when it does, Wow!! My parents love using it on the car carpet after our adventures, and trust me, I shed a lot. If you’ve got furry friends like me, this little tool is a game-changer!
Chom Chom Pet Hair Remover
The Chom Chom Pet Hair Remover works on pretty much all fabrics (unlike my other magic tool). My humans use this one on the couch, the bed, even their clothes. We keep both devices handy, because let’s face it, with me around, pet hair is a full-time job.
Go Pets Self Cleaning Slicker Brush
Final Word from Your Fluffy Queen:
My parents didn’t just adopt a dog, they adopted a majestic, fur-producing machine. My coat keeps me comfortable in the snow, in the sun, and yes, even on our sofa. With the right tools (and a sense of humor), we’ll keep my fluff fabulous and your sanity intact.
Tail wags and fur hugs,
Nova the Husky
